ReConcept

This mod is my own take on how minecraft survival should look like.

It is a funny creative project which does invasive changes to the game as far as my imagination goes. For now it's far from being completed.

Main principles of this mod

  1. Strict vertical and horizontal game progression. Dividing the game into stages which player cannot skip, but giving multiple options in game progress too.
  2. No global player ranks or any visible characteristics defining game progress which affect the game.
  3. Reuse vanilla content for the sake of building new progression when possible. New content allowed too.
  4. Eliminate any possibilities to create automated farms or any other kind of mechanism automating game progress for the player.

Changes

  • Night is a lot more darker
  • Torches are now throwable with a rotating animation in air
  • Added dynamic lights for torches when they are held, dropped and are thrown
  • Default number of hearts is 3
  • All raw meat gives poisoning
  • Wood doesn't drop from breaking by hand
  • Sticks and other items are dropped from leaves from breaking by hand
  • Campfire is crafted from two bark items, one tuft of grass and one stick.
  • Removed villagers and redstone ore from the game

New Features

  • Tuft of grass item: drops from breaking short grass with a chance
  • Flint knife item: crafted from a stick, tuft of grass and flint, is a weapon.
  • Bark item: obtained from clicking on a log by a flint knife
  • Cactus on a stick: A very simple throwable weapon. Crafted from a cactus and a stick
  • Higanbana Flower: Spawned in forest, plains, meadow, jungle, cherry forest.
  • Ofuda of resurrection: crafted from higanbana and two paper items. Can be placed on a wall and sets spawnpoint when clicked on it.
  • A lot more coming later :D
