Vanilla

Overview

Adds emissive ore textures to 208 mods and vanilla, no other resource pack supports as many! Frequently updated with additional mod support, requests are welcome :)

My vision

I plan to add support for as many mods as possible, so you can use it in almost all modpacks. I have designed this resource pack to be highly compatible with different mod versions.

Don't want certain blocks being emissive?

If you don't like certain blocks being emissive, for example coal ore then you can open up the resource pack and delete the emissive texture for that ore. I personally remove coal ore as it can look brown when emissive with shaders turned on. Here's an example:

  • Navigate to "assets/minecraft/textures/block"
  • Delete coal_ore_e (emissive textures end with "_e")
  • If you're not using the fusion add-on resource pack, you are now done.

If you are using the fusion add-on resource pack you will also have to delete a file from that, for most blocks you can do this:

  • Navigate to "fusion-overrides/assets/minecraft/fusion/model_modifiers/blocks"
  • Delete emissive_coal_ore

Very rarely you won't be able to find a file for the block you're searching for in "fusion-overrides/assets/minecraft/fusion/model_modifiers/blocks", this is because blocks that aren't cubes required me to edit the base model to get the emissive texture to work. So instead you'll need to delete a file from a different location, an example of this is the Amethyst Cluster:

  • Navigate to "fusion-overrides/assets/minecraft/models/block"
  • Delete amethyst_cluster (in these cases, the file will never end with an _e)

⚠️ Requirements:

Requirements

You can find the list of requirements, supported mods and help on my website:

Or you can check the sections below (the site has a filter tool which makes it easier to see what options are available):

NeoForge Requirements

Option 1 (1.21 and 1.21.1)

Option 2 (1.20.3 to 1.21.8)

Forge Requirements

Option 1 (1.16.5 to 1.21.1)

Option 2 (1.18.2 or 1.19.2)

Option 3 (1.20.1, 1.21 or 1.21.1)

Option 4 (1.12 to 1.12.2 + 1.14 to 1.21.8)

Option 5 (Not recommended)

Fabric/Quilt Requirements

Option 1 (Highly recommended) (1.18.2 to 1.21.8)

  • Continuity – (Only supports Emissive textures on version 1.18.2 or higher)
  • Sodium - (Not needed, but I highly recommend this)
  • Indium - (Only required if you're using versions of Sodium lower than 0.6)

Note: versions of Sodium lower than 0.6 are known to cause Z-fighting issues when combined with Continuity.

Option 2 (1.16.5 to 1.21.1)

Option 3 (1.18 to 1.21.8)

Option 4 (Not recommended)

Help
Instructions

There are currently 4 Minecraft Modloaders: NeoForge, Forge, Fabric, and Quilt. You will need to install different requirements depending on which Modloader you are using. I have listed all the possible combinations you can use for each Modloader in the requirements section.

Here's an example

I plan on playing a Forge modpack: First, I install "Glowing Emissive Ores", then test if it works (some packs come pre-installed with the requirements). If it doesn't work, then come back to this site and select the requirements tab. Next, I will choose either Option 1, 2, 3, or 4 depending on the version of Minecraft I am playing on. If I choose option 1, I will need to install both "MoreMCMeta (Forge)" and "MoreMCMeta Emissive Textures (Forge)". Finally, I will load the modpack up again and test it. For most modpacks, this should work.

Troubleshooting
  • If the modpack crashes — try launching it at least three times, as large modpacks are sometimes prone to random crashes during startup.
  • If the ores aren’t glowing or the modpack continues to crash — try a different option from the requirements list until you have tried all possible options. (If you've got Sinytra Connector installed, the only option that will work is Continuity)
  • If you're using shaders and the ores only glow at certain times — look for a shader setting called “Floodfill” and disable it. Alternatively, use a different emissive ores resource pack that supports "LabPBR."
  • If the ores are flickering - Try switching to a different requirements option, this issue was present in / caused by old versions of performance mods, like Embeddium, Rubiddium and Sodium. Newer versions of these mods fixed this issue, usually one of the other options won't have this visual bug.
  • If you're still experiencing issues — feel free to leave a comment on my CurseForge page or join my Discord for quicker support.
