Limitbreak is a challenging long-term roguelite datapack where every death makes you stronger. Face escalating waves of enemies, battle powerful bosses, and earn points to unlock stat boosts and rare items. Prepare during intermission periods, trade in the point shop, and claim loot from reward chests.
This datapack offers dozens of hours of challenging, replayable gameplay designed to push players to their limits. Expect very difficult encounters where full party wipes are not uncommon. It’s built for 2–6 players, and while solo play may be nearly impossible, the truly daring are welcome to try.
Note: This datapack is designed to have long-term runs, with a single run usually taking dozens of hours to complete over multiple sessions, and is not made to be played in one sitting (please dont).

This datapack offers of challenging and highly replayable gameplay. Some content includes:
- Over 50 custom mobs to fight in waves.
- 4 unique classes to play as.
- 5 custom bosses to take down.
- Over 40 custom enchants to discover.
- Hidden item functionalities.
- 6 skill books to obtain.
- 4 world upgrades.
- Unique long-term progression.
📦 Installation
As of V.1.2.0
the datapack can be easily installed by just putting the downloaded .zip
folder in the world datapacks
folder.
Although compatible, it is recommended to play the datapack without any mods that add additional content or changes progression in any way since this datapack completely changes the vanilla progression.
📖 Guide
This datapack may be confusing on paper, but it's pretty straightforward in-game.

Upon loading into the world you will spawn in the hub. Head onto the basement of the hub and stay in the 3x3 area to teleport and start a run.

Once you have been teleported to the overworld, prepare as best as you can before midnight as monster waves spawn at and after midnight.

Mobs spawned from waves will drop "Points", these can be consumed by right clicking.

Every 3 days a Point Shop to trade in points along with a reward chest will spawn in the world spawn.

Every 10th day a boss will spawn, beating it would drop custom loot and also set a checkpoint.

Intermission periods happen after beating a boss, and each lasts 7 days. No waves will spawn in this period and players are free to prepare for upcoming battles.

If everyone in the server dies / full party wipe, then it will rollback to the last checkpoint, player items and progression will not be rolled back.

Reach day 50 and beat the boss to finish a run, you can click on the message to return to the hub where you will obtain Credits based on your Points. Using these credits you can buy upgrades for yourself and others.

A couple of useful commands are
/trigger Gather_Point
to set a new world spawn and gathering point for waves,/trigger StatCheck
to check your current stats in full, and/trigger EndRun
to prematurely end a run and return to the hub.
Note: Some vanilla changes are present to balance the progression, these are things such as doInsomnia
being false and player-created iron golems being insta-killed.
⚠️ Warning
I'm the only developer of this datapack and making datapacks is simply a hobby of mine, don't expect regular updates or ports. Currently there are plans to continue adding content, but no version updates or ports are in mind.
Right now this datapack is missing plenty of features, but most of the main features are already finished. Here's some planned content I have in mind:
- Custom modifiers unlocks.
- More classes.
- Perma-death.
- World upgrades & player upgrades.
- More bosses to go through (Only 5 currently so you will fight the same 5 every run).
- More mobs (low priority)
