Is your name Justin? Because you're just-in time to check out the latest in redstone/lootbox/OreGen mods!
This mod has been specifically designed with larger modpacks in mind, providing a nice extra to mining towards the end game while still keeping things balanced - but also highly configurable.
Adds;
1x New ore - Deepslate Arken Ore Spawns between layers -1 and -52 (adjustable between 0-63) average default spawn rate is 1 vein (up to 8 ore which can be adjusted between the minimum and maximum ore spawns 1-8) every 3 chunks. Something about the ancient cities promote the ores development, resulting in 1 vein every 2 chunks around the Deep Dark Biomes. Majority of ores by default spawn with at least 1 ore facing air (70% default - configurable 0-100% with an option to spawn facing blocks, increasing difficulty in finding them), combined with the energy of the orb inside the ore causes the ore block to give off a feint glow (configurable 0-15, 3 by default) - making these rare ores somewhat easier to find, though when an adventurer does come across one - they must make sure they have the proper equipment to mine it, something as hard as diamond (configurable) is likely going to be required to separate the deepslate from the pure Arken inside. The ancient power of the Arken Orb that lies within seems to be somewhat dampening of fortune also, which while it won't reject fortune pickaxes completely - their functionality is cut in half when mining the ore (configurable 0.0-1.0, default is half effectiveness which is 0.5).
1x New item - Arken Orb Drops from the Deepslate Arken Ore, this powerful orb thrums with near infinite potential. On right click, it morphs into nearly any item in the base game OR from any mod (blacklist by default, white list is optional).
1x New block - Arken Block Created by 9x Arken Orbs in a crafting table, the Arken Block has some very unique behaviour. Firstly, the power from each individual Orb bound together in this block causes the block to emit a strong light (configurable 0-15, 15 by default), while also providing power not disimilar to a redstone block (configurable true by default_). Interestingly, if a direct strong redstone signal is received to the block (not by dust, but by a lever, repeater or similar) the block will respond as if it's light and redstoned power is being suppressed for the duration of exposure - resulting in the light being cut out along with it's ability to project redstone power (redstone block suppression and light suppression are both controlled by the same config setting DirectSignalSuppressesBlock), true by default_). On redstone, the block itself has some strange behavior in that any redstone signal applied to the block itself cannot pass through, meaning that an active lever on the block will not power redstone next to the Arken blocl itself until the redstone signal is turned off from the lever, thereby allowing the blocks redstone behavior to resume. This block can also be used as a Beacon block that also required diamond at the very least to successfully mine it, for the adventurer that has absolutely no time at all and wants to gather up enough to do such a thing while looking at their friends with a Smaug look on their face.
Housekeeping; the mod itself has been designed with a pretty robust config file included which users can adjust according to their needs for things like increasing the spawn of ores, e.g; #~1 extra vein every N chunks (overworld). 1 = always. (Default) #Range: 1 ~ 1024 rarityOneIn = 3 this means that 1 vein will spawn in the overworld for every 3 chunks while #Base number of veins per chunk (overworld). 0 = none. (Default) #Range: 0 ~ 1000 countPerChunk = 0 this means that extra veins will be added on top of the default chunk - for users who feel that the current amount is not enough spawn.
Developers note; I made this mod for my own playthrough and to fill a gap I saw in redstone mechanics and lootboxes, the odds of this being updated are highly unlikely - however if you are a developer yourself and want to port this forwards, just reach out to me in the comments and we can go from there! Otherwise no amount of requests to update this mod or downgrade this mod will be taken onboard - I have too much going on to warrant it currently.
Warning - adjusting this spawn quantity can become pretty OP since without any blacklist adjustments you have the ability to get modded endgame items pretty early on if you're lucky - so balance to your own preferences, the defaults have been set as such that I believe a good balance has been struck but you be your own judge.
