The jump from 1.21.1 has come with major code changes. While everything should be fine, please always back up your saves when upgrading to newer Minecraft versions

🆕 Materialpack Creator Major Update

  • The materialpack creator has received a facelift and new features to go along with the 1.21.10 update. Check out the new features and create something great 🔥

🌞 New

  • Updated to Minecraft 1.21.10
  • Materialpacks now have the ability to define swords and axes for their material too. This only works in 1.21.10+ versions, and can't be backported.
  • Copper weapons are now in the base mod! Vanilla 1.21.10 is the copper age drop after all. If you have the copper materialpack installed on a previous version and intend to upgrade, please remove the materialpack first. Mineccraft will otherwise try to register copper weapons twice, causing a crash.
  • Quarterstaves can now be used to block incoming attacks and projectiles, akin to shields. Be careful not to break your weapon this way.
  • Added compatibility with the enchantment descriptions mod. The Might enchantment now has a description.

📋 Changes

  • Quarterstaves, Glaives have had a small nerf to their reach (bonus 1.25 -> 1.0)
  • Basic Weapons has moved to two new tabs in the creative menu - one for the base mod's weapons, and one for all materialpack weapons

🔧 Fixes

  • config/basicweapons/bwmp_data and bwmp_resources are now properly cleaned (deleted) and recreated on each launch. This should solve major problems for people who add and remove materialpacks a lot

🌞 New

  • Added farmer's delight's backstabbing enchantment to daggers

🔧 Fixes

  • Wooden weapons can be used as furnace fuel
  • Sweepless weapons can no longer mine things they shouldn't be able to (e.g. diamond ore)
  • Fixed materialpack false positive logging issue

  • weapons now have the correct range as stated in their tooltip when using alongside the better combat mod
  • bronze glaive, quarterstaff and spear render correctly

  • Gold, iron (and bronze if installed) weapons can be smelted into their nugget forms, same as vanilla weapons

🔧 Fixes

  • Both fabric and neo use the same semi data-driven enchantmenent blacklisting system which is now more robust and extensible
  • Fix sweeping edge triggering on weapons that it shouldn't under certain conditions
  • Made tags for certain items less brittle and conform better to standards
  • Club variant recipes are now grouped in the recipe book
  • long bladed weapons (dagger, glaive) can now cut through cobweb properly

  • No new languages, but existing languages have been updated with new translations

🔧 Fixes

  • Weapons can be smelted/blasted into nuggets
  • Sweepless items can no longer be enchanted with sweeping at an anvil

⚙️ Changes

  • Glaive, Spear & Quarterstaff are now rendered in-hand with the new conditional item model system. This is mainly a non-userfacing change, but will make the mod more stable in the long run.

This is a small bug-fix release, addressing issues with mod compatibility

  • Fixed bronze weapons sometimes having incorrect attack animations (https://github.com/Khazoda/bronze/issues/27)
  • Fixed attack range conflict bug (vanilla entity reach modifier is only applied if Better Combat isn't present)

  • Overhauled the enchantment-selection system introduced in 1.2.4 for 1.21. Now compatible with third party enchantments.
  • Overhauled item registration & weapon data encapsulation, cutting down on a lot of redundant code.
  • Unified weapons into one parent class rather than two, now that sweeping can be disabled without a dodgy mixin
