  • Tempted with seeds; breeds like chickens.
  • Quack, hurt, and death sounds.
  • Duck Eggs, Ducks lay eggs periodically.
  • Taming & Sitting the lead duck: With food they eat!
  • Customizable JSON config, allows users / servers to include more biomes from the game or other mods. ( Currently broken )

Requirements / Compatibility

  • Minecraft: 1.21.8
  • Architectury: 17.0.8+
  • GeckoLib: 5.x

  • Fabric: Loader 0.17.2+ and Fabric API required

  • NeoForge: 21.8.x

Client & Server: Install the matching loader build (Fabric or NeoForge) on both sides. Architectury and GeckoLib are required on both. If installing on existing world, type /reload as OP or in server console to start seeing duck spawns.


Gameplay Notes

  • Where do ducks spawn?

    • Overworld biomes such as plains, forests, taiga variants, swamps, mangroves, rivers, beaches, and shores. They are weighted higher near water.
  • How do eggs hatch?

    • Throw eggs; on impact they can hatch ducklings (1/8 chance, with a rare 1/32 chance to spawn four).
  • How to breed?

    • Feed seeds (same as chickens).

Known Issues:

There is a current issue (prob wont be fixed on my end) with the Collective library (mod). If your server uses a mod that depends on that library, expect ducks to not spawn naturally in existing worlds but work fine in new worlds.
