Easy Slice Portal
Make 1-block-tall Nether portals perfect for farms. Place long, low portals (1×N, up to 21 wide) that use vanilla teleport logic—no weird commands, no custom dimensions.
✨ What it does
Builds 1 block high Nether portal “strips”, 1–21 blocks wide.
Sneak + Flint & Steel to light the strip in one click.
Vanilla teleport behavior: scaling (×8/÷8), cooldown, and portal linking are handled by Minecraft itself.
Leaves normal rectangular portals untouched.
Tiny, safe footprint: no custom blocks or entities.
🧱 How to build
Lay an obsidian floor where the portal should appear (1 block tall).
Put obsidian end caps on the left and right ends of the strip.
While sneaking, use Flint & Steel on the top face of any obsidian in the strip. → The whole 1×N portal is created at once.
Tip: You can build strips along the X or Z axis; the mod detects the correct orientation automatically.
🔁 Teleport is vanilla
This mod only places/keeps the 1-high portal blocks. Entering the portal uses the exact same code path as a normal Nether portal. If you have multiple portals nearby, linking follows vanilla rules (nearest portal, then portal creation when needed).
🧩 Compatibility
Minecraft: 1.21
Loader: Fabric
Requires: Fabric API
Sides: Works server-side. Clients don’t need the mod to connect, but having it on both sides is recommended for consistent sounds/particles.
⚙️ Design notes
A lightweight mixin prevents the 1-tall portal blocks from “popping” due to neighbor updates.
Normal rectangular portals behave exactly like vanilla.

❓FAQ
Q: Why am I sometimes linked to a different portal? A: Vanilla linking rules apply. The game picks the nearest existing portal (or builds one) just like with normal portals.
