Secrets are here!

Replace this with a description

  • Secret notes may now be found inside bottles whilst fishing. They are not meant to be grinded for, and are just fun bits of lore and text for you to uncover.
  • Secrets (not secret notes!) are completely customizable just like Trophies. Secrets may only be fished once much like throphies. The real only difference is that you can'ty see which trophies you're missing and their restrictions. This is to prevent unfun grinding for them.
  • Added 6 Secret Notes, and a bunch of secrets for one-time fishing specific items in different places, such as a one-time netherrite scrap from the nether once you've caught your first legendary fish.

Replace this with a description

  • Added Broken Bottle which can be thrown for 2.5 hearts of damage! Destroying itself in the process.

Added Extras!

  • Extras work similarly to secrets and trophies being a one-time reward with the same restrictions as them, however they don't show up on the guide what-so-ever.
  • These are meant to add a bit of fun to fishing progression by for example connecting them to Secret notes that tell them to go fish at X with Y bait during Z weather to fish something cool

  • Added Secrets to guide book

  • Massively improved trophies (and by extension Secrets and Extras), now allowing for per-rarity restrictions, and taking in a FishProperties too so you can limit trophies by all the restrictions fishes also can.

  • Fixed/Added a very dumb and meaningless thing to the guide's tooltips which no one will ever notice :) hopefully. If they notice it, it's probably a bad sign.
  • Some minimal guide code optimizations, shouldn't be noticable really.

Baits are here!

  • Added 7 baits to aid in catching specific fishes!
  • Baits don't provide any advantage except making that type of fish more likely to bite. It does not affect the minigame, biting time or loot.
  1. Cherry Bait for cherry grove fishes
  2. Lush bait for lush caves fishes
  3. Sculk bait for deep dark fishes
  4. Dripstone bait for dripstone caves fishes
  5. Murkwater bait for swamp fishes
  6. Legendary bait for all legendary fishes!
  7. Meteorological bait which allows you to ignore weather restrictions for fishes
  • Eating most fishes now transforms into some fish bones which can be used for bone meal!
  • Trophies no longer burn in lava! Be careful of cacti though. 🌵
  • Buffed Frugal Bobber. It now has a 80% chance of not using the bait.
  • Updated to use LibTooltips v0.3 which included custom rgb item name support (used for Legendary Bait)
  • Improved bait description in guide book to include a % buffed based on the base chance to catch.

🛠 FIXES

  • Fixed shift-clicking items into the Starcatcher's rod.
  • Fixed fish entries with custom names not being properly stored in the fish entity (which no one knows it exists probably)
  • Fish Entity now drops the correct fish item with the stored fish properties (for data-driven custom name etc)
  • Fishes now display the correct name in item form.
  • Renamed Skulk fish to Sculk fish to match vanilla

Added Curated loot for treasures!

  • Treasures will now make sure you get at least 1 of each hook/bobber/gadget before defaulting to the loot table randomness. This is to prevent unlucky streams of opening dozens of chests and not getting important upgrades like the Crystal Hook for lava fishing.

Better trophies!

  • Trophies are now better data-driven, allowing for custom names and dynamic registration and integration with the guide. Ask in the discord if you're interested in the inner-workings or check the wiki if you're reading this in the future.
  • Generic-ified trophies so modpack creators can use gold/silver/bronze as a base texture & item for their custom trophies.

Added Help/guide entries to the guide book!

  • The Basics: general guide on how to fish and hit the sweet spots
  • Treasures: basic overview of how to get treasures
  • Hooks: Allows you to see all currently coded hooks
  • Bobbers: Allows you to see all currently coded bobbers
  • Gadgets: Allows you to see all currently coded gadgets
  • Trophies: Displays all currently registered trophies, hidden until you catch them!
  • Secrets: WIP, not implemented yet.

  • Fixed non-bobbers being able to be placed in bobber slot inside the starcatcher's rod
  • Fixed some biome-specific fishes being restricted to above y=0 instead of y=50
  • Fixed wrong translation keys being used for fish block-entries. You can now fish a Block of Diamond and it will display the name correctly.
  • Fixed index entry-clicking not work on second+ page.
  • Increased maximum number of fish registries possible to 512 (what a weirdly specific number...)

Added support for Trophies!

  • Trophies are data-driven and currently support being awarded upon catching X amount of unique fishes, Y amount of total fishes, or a combination of both!
  • Added built-in trophies for 10, 25 and 50 unique fishes caught
  • Added built-in trophies for 75 and 150 toal fishes caught
  • Added "return to index" button on the guide (thanks weaver!)
  • Improved guide's UX/UI such as outlines when hovering, color changing when clicking, waiting until click release to actionate etc.
  • Changed crafting recipe of guide to be rod + book, to prevent incompatibility with other mods like Tide which might use the previous recipe of #fish + book

  • Fixed the rod's texture updating to the "cast" texture on all rods instead of just the one used for casting
  • Fixed Index overflowing when there were more fishes than the guide could display. You can now add as many fishes as you want!
